A woman crashes down through the ceiling of an underground room and lands on the floor. One single unbroken fall.

The ceiling bursts open in one violent hit, tearing a jagged irregular hole. Through the opening: snapped white drywall edges, splintered wooden joists, a thick layer of dark soil with dangling roots, and at the top a torn lip of green turf with grass blades hanging down. Bright daylight and a slice of blue sky pour in, casting a hard shaft of light through the swirling dust.

She falls fast and heavy, feet-first, body twisting, arms flailing to catch balance, hair and clothes lifted by the air, face in real shock. She hits the floor hard and stays down, settling into her final pose.

Dirt clumps, grass, drywall chunks and dust rain down around her and keep trickling from the hole. The hole stays exactly as it broke — never repaired, soil, roots, grass edge and open sky still visible at the end.
